What makes up the total
IDOT p. 1. Mutually exclusive collision types sum to 726 crashes. A pedestrian-involved crash is a crash count, not a count of pedestrians injured.
Offenses are not arrests. The department separately reported 337 retail-theft arrest charges in 2024.
The comparison workspace uses FBI violent plus property offenses, FBI agency population, and only city agencies with 12 complete reporting months; the local Group A series remains a separate definition.
Fire, EMS, police, resident-population, retail-visitor, and daytime-worker exposures differ; the added local-service measures are not used in peer rankings.
